Hi everyone!!

I know its been WAAAAYYYY too long since I updated. :( This year has been a whirlwind for me (to say the least) and I have really just been trying to keep on top of things on the priority list (family and health)!!! ;)

SO, with that being said, I will be back with weekly updates starting next week for the New Year. I am REALLY excited to see what 2010 will bring and I am praying for the BEST.

I hope to be able to share some positive and uplifting messages to everyone in the upcoming year through my weekly inspirations that I use to do exclusively via email and will now do thru the blog each week. If you have any requests on topics, please email me

I hope everyone has a great Christmas/Holiday season and a VERY VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

How could I forget this part of my post!! DUH!!! :-)

Quote of the week:

I will go anywhere provided it be forward - Dr. David Livingstone

Something to think about is this...many times we can not move forward because we continually live in the past. The what if's, if only's, and I shoulda/coulda/woulda problem! STOP!!! NOTHING positive can come from this mind-set.

In order to go anywhere in life you must learn from your past...good, bad or indifferent. :-) You can't change the past!!!!! You can ONLY understand it, learn from it, and use it to look to the future by turning the experience into something positive. We all have things in our past that we wish were different, but the fact is that it is not. So, be happy and live for today as if you were "doing it all over"!! Don't dwell on ANYTHING and use EVERYTHING to fuel your fire!!

NOW...have an AWESOME week!! :-)

In Love and Fitness,

Hey there everyone!

Well, not much going on in my world..its been PRETTY BORING!!! :-) Which I am not sure if that is a good thing for me right now or a bad thing!! hahaa

Since last week, the only new changes are that the kids are out of school for the summer and we are trying to plan things to do!! YEAH!!! :-) Hopefully, I will have some new, fun pics to post soon. I hope that the weather will be somewhat decent so we can go swimming (or THEY can go...I CANT swim!! lol) or something like that this week.

Have a GREAT week!!

Hey there everyone!

This past week and weekend was crazy! I was still recovering from some dental work and that was NOT fun!!! I am learning so much about myself in this VERY trying time, but I know that there is a bigger plan working here so I am going about my journey!! :-)

This weekend was LONG, as I OFFICIALLY became certified to do CPR/First Aid and AED!!! WHOOO HOOO!!! It about time right! lol It was a very fun class (just extremely long and tiring)but I am considering teaching the training courses for certification?!?! We shall see!

I have some pics here from Milani's art show last week and from this past weekend w/the kids. They are adorable I must say!!! LOL
Have a fun day everyone!! Keep checking back for updates etc.

Hey there everyone!!!

I am REALLY sorry for not posting as usual...its been a WHIRLWIND the past couple of weeks. (to say the least!! lol) I really appreciate everyone for hanging in there with me! :-)

So, to catch everyone up a little bit...I will probably be changing my title to something else, as I am deciding to put off the July All Women's Weekend show. However, I will still be going to the show, just not as a competitor! :-( I cant wait to see everyone there.

The reason I have decided to put the show off is that I have had a couple of serious medical issues that need my immediate attention and I am focusing on those issues right now. I REALLY REALLY appreciate everyone who has been here for me the last couple of weeks for means MORE to me than I can express!! Thanks to you for your support, prayers, advice, etc etc. I am at a calm spot and am just looking forward to doing what I have to do and to keep it moving!! :-)

I also would love to thank all the campers at Phat Camp Cleveland 2 weeks ago!! You guys ROCKED!!!! That camp was very special to me...I met a TON of wonderful women as usual, got the opportunity to speak and share a very important message about attitude and I also took away strength for myself during a really tough time. THANK YOU CAMPERS SOOOOOO much!!!! Love you guys!! :-)

I think that is about it for me. LOL I am down for a little bit but DEFINITELY not out!!! I am re-focusing and staying positive about whatever God has in store for me! :-) I do plan to compete this fall and I will still keep everyone updated on my progress in my current status...I still have a way to go to reach my goal, so I just look at it as extra prep time!! ;-)

As for the little ones...WOW...they grow WAAAY to fast!!! I cant believe my baby boy is getting ready to go into the 4th GRADE!! And my daughter is getting ready to be promoted to a "real" pre-school room at her daycare. I am SOOOO SUPER proud to be their mama!! :-) Both my son and daughter have had an awesome year at school this year!!! Today I actually went to help out at Field Day for Armani and tonight I have Milani's art show at pre-school. What a fun blessing to be a mother!!! :-)

Well everyone...enjoy the day and keep checking back. I am sure I will have a lot of things to post about soon!

In closing, keep this great quote in mind!! It will help you keep your attitude in check!

"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do."
- Eleanor Roosevelt

So, I will keep posting as of now, but I dont think anyone can read until they "review" to make sure I am not a if I actually have time to do that! LOL

Have a GREAT week!!

Ok...well I am still recouping from whatever I was trying to get or get over (NOT swine flu people!!!) LOL I have heard that WAAYYY too many times the past few days!! :-) Overall though, feeling pretty well..however, workouts/cardio suffered a bit this weekend. :-(

BUT, its a NEW WEEK right?!?! YEEAAHHH!!! :-) So, I just got done doing my 1st hour of cardio and am now cooking breakfast for the kids...I gotta multi-task ya know!! :-) Then off to the gym for training and more cardio...I am excited!! I LOVE getting my new plans each week from the GPO team...DEFINITELY keeps me going!!!

So, here's to a new week for EVERYONE!!! Make it a GREAT ONE!!! :-)

Friday, May 1, 2009

Well...this first week was GREAT!! I can't complain at all. Of course, last night and today I have been fighting off something and not feeling not great days!! But, overall this week was a WONDERFUL SUCCESS and I am VERY proud of it!! :-)

I have learned alot about myself this week and realized that I need to ALWAYS believe in myself and what I can accomplish!! Its funny how I teach my kids that EVERYDAY, but I don't listen to my own words of advice sometimes! :-( Anyone else with me here?!?!

The biggest thing I ACCOMPLISHED this week was doing 3 HOURS of CARDIO in one day (2 days this week)...something I NEVER thought I would be able to do (physically OR mentally!!). But I did in deed!! WOW! What a feat!! :-) Now I have done it and know I can and my goal is to continue to do this as needed.

The biggest thing I LEARNED this week was to believe in myself!!! Sometimes when you have had to continuously overcome barriers and MAJOR obstacles in your life you get to a point where you start to feel defeated and just DONE!! I have been there in that spot TOO long and MY ATTITUDE is what has changed the most for me the past week. I am starting to feel more like ME and I am excited to see what next week brings...ESPECIALLY training-wise! :-) Prepping for a show is a journey in EVERY sense of the word...physically, mentally, spiritually, TRULY get to see and experience many sides of you and people around you.

As for the family....I LOVE MY BABIES!!!! :-) They are getting so big and time goes by too quick when they are this age. My son and my daughter inspire me EVERYDAY to be the best mama I can be!! I am excited to spend some time with them this weekend and see/hear what HILARIOUS things they come up with. As I am sure it will be something comical!! LOL I think my daughter is 3 going on 23 with the things she comes up with!!! :-)

Have a GREAT weekend!! :-)

PS...AND YES, my sister DEFINITELY hates me not being able to walk the next day after leg training!! :-) LOL

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

WOW...the past few days have been wonderful and exhausting all at the same time! Geeze...I am SOOO out of shape!lol I have been going hard on training and cardio and haven't missed a beat!! YEAH!! :-)

I finished leg training and first cardio today and have another hour of cardio this evening! I am feeling REALLY good...but LORD help my legs!!! :-) I had fun today at the gym because I actually had a baby sister!! :-) Although, she HATES me now! LOL She just had a baby and is getting that fun baby weight off and I think she is probably gonna hate me for about the next few months!! But, love me in the end! hahaaha I will post some pics of her and my BEAUTIFUL niece!! to write meal plans and get the kids from school here soon! Thanks again for all of the support and for also allowing me to help support and motivate so many of you as well!! I feel like I am sharing MANY of my experiences and personal strength of overcoming with many of you right now. So just BELIEVE it and you can do it!! And as I hear Heather Bear saying in my head while I am stair-climber and about to DIE :-) ...."HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT?!?!" BAAAAADDDDDDD!!!! :-)

Have a FANTASTIC day!!!

Monday, April 27, 2009

MY FIRST DAY was technically DAY 1 of "The Journey" and I must say I couldn't have planned it any more perfect myself!! :-) I got through all of my meals, my 2 hours of cardio and training today and felt GREAT!!! I was very pleased!

Being on this side of the GPO program is VERY fun/exciting because I get to see what our other Phat Girlz have been experiencing and I feel like I can connect even more so to all of our clients. I will say that Sandy KILLED me with cardio this morning, but when it was all over with...I felt AWESOME! So, I loved and hated her earlier today! LOL

Kids are great today and my son has been taking yoga for the past 2 weeks (which I made him do without consulting him first! haha) and he is LOVING it!! He wants me to make a "yoga space" for him now at home. So, I think that is what I will be doing this weekend with the kids...this will be great family time.

So, here is to a GREAT START and I appreciate all of your support in keeping this momentum going!

Hi everyone!!

My name is Tonya Nanthavong and I am a mom, sister, daughter, friend, entrepreneur and personal trainer/nutrition specialist under Jen Hendershott in the Get Phat Online and Phat Camp programs. I wanted to give everyone a little insight into me and my journey back into competing. Something I started a few years back and stopped after MANY life obstacles. But not just THAT journey, MY journey of OVERCOMING challenges, obstacles, negativity and balance in all areas of life.

This is MY way of sharing a day in the life of a busy, single mom of 2 who wants to accomplish a goal of mine that I have been putting off for WAY too long! :-) For FINALLY doing something for myself and not feeling bad about it! After talking with Jen, she thought this would be a GREAT way to share with everyone out there, especially women, that you CAN achieve your goals no matter what life throws your way! And my personal philosophy is MIND OVER MATTER!!!

So, here goes!! :-) There are 24 hours in a day and I plan to pack in a 30 hour day. Thanks for joining my blog and lets enjoy the journey together!!!

Have an AWESOME week!!
